·       Factors affecting Soil Compaction Factors affecting compaction of soil   Soil compaction is affected by many factors,  including the type of soil, water content,  soil  structure, and compactive effort. 1.    Soil type Heavy clays, clays, and silts are more  resistant to compaction.
